October 30th Happy Halloween!!.....In a day.....

Hey everyone!  Halloween tomorrow!  Yay!  I'm going to a costume party!  I'm going to be Chocolate and I have a friend who will probably be Marshmallow.  I was going to just be myself but Marshmallow (Alex) gave me a brown jacket so I could be Chocolate and together we're a S'more.  :)

Last Monday, we went to our cousins' house.  Well, they're not really our cousins.  They're our cousins' cousins.  We had dinner at their house and had a great time.  It was awesome.

On Tuesday, we had more classes.  Writing and Lit., Geography, and Choir again.  The class I remember the best was Geography.  I really like doing the Geography games in class.  It's just the homework that isn't that exciting.

On Wednesday, we had some awesome classes.  Speech and Debate was cool.  We practiced debating on  random topics.  It was fun.  I did my Elizabethan Times presentation in Shakespeare.  I was really proud of the pictures I found.  I did War of the Roses.  I found a bunch of good pictures of the white and red roses.  That was really cool.  But my favorite class on Wednesday was Home Ec (Ec = Economics).  As you know, my mom teaches it.  But I didn't like it because she taught it.  I liked it because of what was taught and how it was taught.  It was amazing.  We talked about Julie B. Beck's talk titled Mothers Who Know.  We talked about what we think of when we hear the word mother.  We talked about what mothers do and are supposed to do.  And we talked about us, Young Women Who Know.  Young Women who know are amazing.  And WE are Young Women who know.  For mutual on Wednesday, we were all supposed to come wearing our clothes backwards.  We ate backwards (dessert first), we had upside down plates, we even had the lesson last to be backwards.  That was a lot of fun.  The lesson was about how being backwards isn't right.  If we live our lives backwards (not doing the right things), it's very uncomfortable.  But we can always change back.  I thought that was pretty cool.

For Biology on Thursday, we extracted DNA.  We used dried peas.  It was super cool.  There was white stuff that was the DNA.  It rocked.

On Friday, when I went to the temple, I did family names.  That was fun.  I did an especially cool one.  Her name was Tenessee Tucker.  Her family called her Tenny.  I like the name Tenessee.  It's very cute.  After the templ,e Mackie came over.  We looked at the fish that I'd gotten the week before.  Then we filled up my five-gallon fish tank.  After that, it was off to Cornbelly's for Park Day.  We had a blast.  We went through the big maze twice, I did a duck race with Mackie (the one where you pump water to make a rubber duck go), we went on the hayride, someone went up the rockwall (won't go into funny details on that :) ), and all in all, we just had a blast!  It was so much fun!  Maybe we should go without little kids next time, though.....  Then, on Friday night, my friend had a costume party.  It was a blast!  I loved it!  I can't wait to have another b-day party.  We'll have lots and lots and LOTS of fun!

Yesterday was the ward trunk-or-treat.  I was chocolate again and I hung out with one of my friends for a while.  We talked about fun stuff and had a great time.  So much fun.

And today.  We went to church of course.  I took some great notes.  There were some awesome speakers and teachers.  I also learned how to index today with my mom and Caden.  That was cool.  We had a fun time figuring out what the documents said.  Especially when you finish the document you get all excited because you know you just did an important service.  And now I'm typing this.  I hope you liked my post!  See ya!

October 23rd

Hey everyone.   I'll just say what I did yesterday, since I didn't cover that, and what I'm doing today.

Yesterday I helped clean up the house for my mom to get back.  Exciting, right?  Then, in the afternoon, I helped Mackie gather up her guppies that she'd been raising in my tank, or rather, that I'd been raising in my tank, and we went to the fish store around the corner to trade them in.  She is done with fish for now so she let me have the fish that she traded for.  Seven platies.  There are four mickey mouse platies and three that.....aren't mickey mouse platies.  I put them in my tank to float for a while and we went upstairs.  After getting permission, we made frosting.  Mackie had never tasted graham crackers and frosting before so we did that.  We made a different kind than we normally do but it was still good.  Then I made the kind of frosting that we always make and put it on a bunch of graham crackers to put in the freezer.  Yum!  We're eating them today.

Which leads me TO today.  Since it's regional conference this Sunday, our friends are coming to watch it being braodcasted at our building (their building is supposed to go to the conference center but they have little kids so that wouldn't have really worked).  We're just about to head out the door so I'd better get going!  I hope you liked the post!

Also, thanks to all those who have voted on my polls.  Seeing as everyone obviously loves the friend story, Orphanage Adventures, I'll get to working on that.  Have a good week everyone!

October 21st Sorry I'm..... early?

Hey everyone!  I felt like blogging earlier this week because I didn't have anything to do and it's been a busy week so the post will take a while.....

So let's see.....  Monday.....  Hmm.....  And of course, I can't remember.  I know I did some awesome homework.  I was supposed to find out where some of my ancestors came from and when.  I actually found out what ship one of my ancestors came from!  I was so excited!  I got really lucky.  I loved it!  Let me just say right now.....  I LOVE FAMILY HISTORY!!!!!

On Tuesday..... Oh, yeah, classes.  Wow, I'm starting to really lose my memory here.  So, let's see.....  For Writing and Lit., well, I can't really remember what happened then, either.  How about Geography?  Hmm, I remember what happened then!  We, uh, well.  Sorry, I actually can't remember.  Darn.  Um, I remember that we had a substitute for Choir!  That's something.....  Other than that, it was a normal day.....

Ok!  So.  On Wednesday we had Speech and Debate, Shakespeare, and Art.  Speech and Debate was cool.  Everybody is getting ready for the tournament in a few weeks.  I learn a lot when I go there.  Then there was Shakespeare.  For that class, we did an impromptu play.  That was fun.  I worked backstage to make sure everyone got ON stage on time.  That was fun.  Then Art.  Art was fun, too.  There was a trivia question type game.  I don't really know what those things are called.....  You got a piece of candy for every question you got right about art.  That was fun.  Although we didn't get to trade our art cards, we did get to learn all about texture.  It doesn't sound fascinating but it actually really was.  We got to do rubbings of lots of different things.  I thought it was cool to look around the house and the outdoors and find things that were all textury.  Then we drew pictures of things with certain textures just like the ones we made rubbings of.  That was a lot of fun, too.  For mutual, we went to Cornbelly's.  I actually made it through the entire maze!  We went out through the exit and not the entrance!  Haha!  Yay!  That was tons of fun.

Yesterday was Biology.  That was a lot of fun.  We made a model of DNA out of pipe cleaners and styrofoam balls.  It looked pretty cool.  Afterwards they guys were swordfighting.  One of them got hit on the head and while he was rubbing it and complaining, he said, "Well, there goes my algebra."  HAHA!  So funny!  We say that all the time now.  Haha.....

Let's see.  My mom left today.  She's going to a moms' retreat.  We went to park day and had a bunch of fun.  We would have had more fun but we found that they put white Christmas lights on the umbrella tree!  (That's not really what it's called but we call it that anyway.)  The great climbing tree!.....  That I love watching everyone else climb!  Yeah.....  But we still had a great time!  We went to the libraary, too and I got some books for the little kids and a couple of dog books for myself.  Now we're having movie night.  We're watching a movie about.....  Well, I'm not sure.  Hm.  Oh well.  I hope you enjoyed my post!

October 17th Sorry I'm late!

Sorry I'm late this week!  I forgot yesterday because we were at a mission farewell visit until 6:00.

So, last Monday.....  I usually don't do anything on Monday but homework for the rest of the week.

On Tuesday, we had Writing and Lit., Geography, and Choir.  Writing and Lit. was fun.  We did Ink Pinks and things.  And Ink Pink is, well.....  Let me explain.  Ink Pinks are like riddles.  They are two words with one syllable each that rhyme.  This is how the riddle goes.  You find a way to describe the two words to someone and that person has to figure out what they are.  Like this:  Person 1 (to an audience):  "The description is 'strange facial hair'."  A person in the audience:  "Is it 'weird beard'?  Person 1:  "Yes!"  Then there are Inky Pinkies, Inkity Pinkities, Inkitity Pinkitities, and so on.  It's so much fun!  You can even make up your own!  We did that and were reminded about our book reports that we had to have done this next week for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  It's such a good book!  It's really long but really worth it.  Then for Geography, we got to do some fun activities.  Flash cards, watching special videos, a cool food from Argentina, and so on.  I think it's fun to be in Geography class but the homework isn't as fun.....  oh well.  I liked Choir more this week because I got to sing some really fun songs and better yet, I didn't have to sing them five times in a row.  I think that's what made it more "likable" this time.

On Wednesday we had Speech and Debate, Shakespeare, and Home Ec.  I liked listening to the teacher.  There wasn't any speaking this week.  The rest of the class is supposed to give 5-10 minute talks in class this week so they were working on it in "free time" for ten minutes.  I just watched.  It's fun to watch people and see what they do.  In Shakespeare, the teacher wasn't actually there.  She was on an unplanned trip to New York with her son to be in the Glenn Beck show and talk about homeschooling!  Yeah!  I was so excited!  It's being broadcasted this week so I get to watch it!  Cool!  So instead of her teaching the class, her son did, and it actually went pretty well.  We had a presentation on Elizabethan torture and, I think, architecture.  They were both great!  We played some cool games and had tons and tons of fun.  The book discussion went well, too.  It was really awesome.  Home Ec. was fun.  We got to sew pants for the Shakespeare play we're putting on in the Fall.  Well, pretty soon.  We learned a bunch of stuff about sewing.  That rocked.  My mom teaches part of the class, too, so it's fun to watch.

We got to see a play on Thursday.  100 Dresses.  It was about a little girl who got teased because of her funny name and accent.  She only wore one shabby, gray dress.  There was a drawing contest and the little girl (Wanda) would only talk about her 100 dresses, all lined up.  Eventually, she moved away to the city and wasn't there when the winner of the drawing contest (herself, Wanda) was announced.  She had drawn 100 dresses, all different, and so well drawn that you could tell what kind of fabric they were made of.  They eventually felt sorry that they had made fun of her and wrote a letter to ask how it was in the city and to apologize.  She wrote back and asked the teacher in her class to give two pictures to two students that she knew.  The two girls eventually realized that they were the ones drawn wearing the dresses and realized that Wanda had been a true friend.  Then Wanda moved back and everyone was very happy.  It was a great play with great actors.  I loved it.  After that, we went to Biology.  It was still boring.  It was ok though.

We went to the temple on Friday.  After that, we worked on homework until it was time for park day.  Friday was exciting.  A bunch of my friends had planned for us to have a girls' day.  There were six of us:  Alex, Allie, Chris, Willow (she doesn't have a code name yet so I'll use her Genius name), Jet (same with her), and Me.  The first thing we did was pick up Alex from her school.  Then the fun began.  We went to the area near my house where there are all of the stores and things.  First, we went to Petco and Michaels.  Petco was fun.  A funny thing was that while we were looking at fish, Allie and Jet started to lag behind.  The rest of us forgot about them until they ran up to us sort of giggling and gasping.  "Quick!  Come here!" they said, "We just saw a fish die!"  We all ran over to watch as one lrge gold fish floated on its side in the tank.  They said, "See, it's dead!"  But then it moved we all gasped and giggled a little and said, "No, it's not!"  So now it's kind of our little joke.  Yeah, funny I guess.  Alex bought a bunch of erasers at Michaels.  We all giggled.  She loves erasers.  Then we went to Bread Co......  Excuse me, Great Harvest.  :P  It's a joke to everyone around me about the name of that place.  I always call it Bread Co. but every time I say that somebody says, "No, it's Great Harvest!"  It's just funny.  We got our samples and Alex opened her erasers.  We watched and laughed as she said, "Oh, that's how that one works!" and took them apart and observed.  She's so funny!  She always makes me laugh.  Then we went to Frogurt (which we found out was taken over by Uswirl but that we still call Frogurt) and enjoyed ourselves.  We listened to funny jokes, danced to the music playing, and made hilarious faces at each other.  We all knew about Geniuses, which I thought was pretty cool, so we talked about that for a while.  Then we went to Arctic Circle, across the street, (I know, dessert before dinner.  We did it backwards!  How cool is that?) where I got a corn dog for dinner and most of us got complementary/courtesy cones.  Then we went back over to Petco to wait for our ride to Willow's house.  While there, we were practicing our accents.  Scottish, Irish, German, British.....  Then a couple of us (not me) were dared to go up to a random person walking by and ask them in an accent what time it was.  One of us did it.  Allie went up to a random lady and asked in a British accent, "Excuse me.  Can you tell me what time it is?"  The lady pulled out her phone and told us the time.  Then she asked us why we were here by ourselves.  Alex said, "We're waiting for our ride to get here," in an Irish accent.  The lady looked at us funny and asked, "Are you guys doing weird accents or something?"  Alex probably would have answered, "No, we're really not from around here," but I couldn't stop myself from laughing.  I ruined it (sorry guys!).  Instead, Alex told her we were and she smiled saying, "You guys are pretty good."  We said, giggling, "Thanks!  Thanks for listening!  You were a great audience!"  It was really funny!  When Alex's mom got there to pick us up, we told her and she laughed.  It was great.  Then we went to Willow's house.  We had some cheesecake, played.....racket ball.....I think....., and had a great time playing imagination games.  They are so much fun!  That was my favorite thing about the entire get-together!  I was a queen, I had two daughters and a husband (the king), and there was a security guard.  One of my daughters fancied the security guard and you can imagine where it went from there.  I loved it!

On Saturday, well, I didn't really do anything.....  Just kidding!!  I had a great time!  Alex invited me to go with her to an opera!  Well, here's what happened:  We went up to the BYU Arts Center, playing some games on the way.  The traffic was actually pretty bad so we decided to get lunch at Subway (yum!) and just go to the second hour of the opera because it was kind of in two parts.  When we got to BYU, we went up to the ticket stand.  It was closed.  We were really confused for a minute.  Then Alex's dad read the sign:  October 15, 11 am.  Ahhh!!!  Alex's mom thought the play was at 2:00!  We'd missed it!  She was very upset.  Well, we had a great time going to the BYU bookstore.  And the highlight of the trip.....  The rubber duckie collection!  There were probably two or three hundred little duckies!  Alphabet duckies!  Number duckies!  Color duckies!  There were puppy duckies, kitty duckies, farm animal duckies, hippy duckies, there were even Elvis Presley and Bettie Boop duckies!  I was amazed!  We took picture after picture of them with Jet's phone and just giggled and gasped and cooed over all of them!  They were so cute!   We were sad when we had to leave them.....until Alex's mom pulled out some chocolatey candies and gave us a few.  :)  We stepped on little acorns on the way back and even took a couple of them with us to the car, giving them to each other as presents as we got in.  We're such a funny little bunch!  I went home and finished my chores.  I wanted to hang out but it wouldn't work.  Oh, well.  I did a bunch of homework and my book report for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (which I will be revealing next week) and then we had a good dinner (thank you Mom!) and went to bed.....sleep.....

Then yesterday, which would have been "today" if I hadn't forgotten.  Whoops.  Sorry again about that.  Well, we went to church for the first hour and then we went to Lindon in Utah County for my cousin's missionary farewell.  He gave a great talk!  I loved it!  I even took notes!  Then we went over to his house for, well, you know, the embarrassing slide show, the cookies, the chat.  He was so cute as a little kid!  We played with their dog, we played a board games called Settlers of Catan, and we just had tons of fun.  Then we came home and had a super yummy dinner made my my wonderful, awesome, talented mom and went to bed.....sleep.....

And now it's today.  Here I am again, typing this.  But I'm not going to tell you what I did today.  That's for next week.  :)

October 9th

Hey everyone!  Wow, I was just thinking about the week and I kind of realized that it's been a very fun and exciting week!  I'll start at the begining.

I didn't do much on Monday.  I stayed home and did homework and stuff.  That was.....boring.  most of my homework isn't very fun.  Though I am reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  It's really good.  I wasn't sure about it at first but I got into it and it's now one of my favorites!  I also realized that my favorite book, Elantris, is a Sci-fi like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  I guess I like Sci-fi's.....  Hm.  You learn something new every day!  Am I right?

On Tuesday, we had Writing and Lit. (Literature), Geography, and Choir on Tuesday, as usual.  Writing and Lit. was fun.  We had a book discussion on the part of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea that we'd read so far.  It was great to talk about Captain Nemo (whose name I thought was all the more interesting now that I know what it means [it means no one or nobody]), Professor Arronax, Ned Land, and Consiel.  They're awesome.  We talked about how we thought the book would probably be nothing or really boring if the only character was the Professor or one of the characters wasn't in the book.  I found that interesting to think about.  We've started learning about South America for Geography.  It's not one of my favorite classes but I think I'm finding that it's more and more fun each week.  My homework was marking a bunch of landmarks on a South America map and I learned a bunch from that, too.  For Choir, I was excited to sing God Bless America, one of my favorite songs, and When Johnny Come Marching Home, another one of my favorites.  Oh, and Welcome, said the Spider.  That one is fun to sing because of the one loud scream at the end and it's also interesting because we sing it differently than most other songs.

On Wednesday, we had Speech and Debate, Shakespeare, and Art at my house.  Of course, I just watched at Speech and Debate.  I'm not actually taking the class, I'm just watching it because it's at my house.  We had to write speeches in our heads in two minutes and give them to a partner in five minutes.  I noticed that Caden did pretty well.  And I observed one of my friends as she easily went over five minites giving her speech after only two minutes of writing it (in her head!)!  I was really impressed.  The students gave about five speeches all together that day.  I thought that was really cool.  I even learned a little bit about geography when we were talking about the Boston Tea Party and things related to taxes and stuff.  That was fun.  We talked about The Merchant of Venice in Shakespeare some more.  We're reading that one and performing a different one.  I'm not going to be in the play, though, I'm just going to be in the back.  I can't stand acting.  We learned a dance (which was REALLY weird.  Some of us demanded stickers for going way out of our comfort zones and actually HOLDING HANDS with all of the guys) and we got treats for doing our assigments.  All in all, though, we had a great time.  We learned a lot in Art.  We have a really good teacher.  We learned about warm colors and cool colors and how the warm ones look like they're coming towards you and the cool ones look like they're going away.  We learned about complimentary colors and that they are always opposite each other on the color wheel.  I thought that was really interesting.  Some of us noticed that green and red were opposite each other and that was why they've always looked so good together.  Then we used what we learned and drew our hands on a piece of paper and made them look like they were one on top of the other and made them pop out by using warm colors and we drew swirls in the back in a cool color to make it look like it was REALLY popping out at you.  We were also given 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 cards to draw pictures on that we'll trade with other people in the class.  I've drawn a lot, all flowers.  It was so fun!

We had Biology on Thursday.  We learned more about how cells function and how leaves get their color and stuff like that.  After Biology, we went shopping to find a good treat that would relate with our short story that we would be reading to the Writing and Lit. class and the students' families.  I found a bag of pretzels called Rold Gold and my mom said I should get those because of the gold.  My story was about Rapunzel (read the last story on the short story page to know what I mean).  It was great to hear everyone's stories.  I had three favorites: (I apologize ahead of time if I get the titles wrong.) The Adventures of Biblo, Cute, Fun, Catchy Title, and.....I forgot the last title.  The first one, The Adventures of Biblo, was the funniest.  It was a tiny version of The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with a bunch of extra funny stuff put in.  It was hilarious!  The next one, Cute, Fun, Catchy Title, was about a girl who couldn't figure out what to write for her short story.  It was very, very cute.  :)  And the last one, I can't remember the title, was about a little cloud that spread her water all about and knew the secret to happiness.  I loved it.

I went to the temple on Friday morning.  After that, I got to spend time with my friend, Mackie is what I think she's called on here, and we got to go to Petco and get a new fish.  We're sharing a balloon molly and keeping her at my house.  She's really pretty.  After hanging out with Mackie, I got to go to Alex's house to play Geniuses with Alex, Allie, and Chris.  I didn't get into it as much this time but I still had tons of fun.  We had pizza and cookies and we just plain had a blast.  I love imagination games.

Yesterday was Questpediton.  It was a mini version of Summit but just for the Master Knights, Pages, and Fair Maidens, not the Knights.  It was so much fun!  I was a villian.  We captured the Fair Maidens and the Royal Children (all of which I knew, one of which was Sariah :) ), battled to try and save the Royal Children from being taken back to their kingdom, and we even played a little "Capture the Flag" game, but with foams swords.  And it was a lot more serious.  It was so much fun though!  We played "Flag Warfare" at the end and my team won!  I thought that was so cool, especially because Caden was on the other team!  Ha ha!  Yeah!  We went home after that and my dad was teaching a CFP class.  We watched movies and I drew pictures on my trading cards for Art and did some homework for the rest of the night.

And today is Sunday.  Caden was sick so he stayed home.  There was the primary program, though.  That was fun to watch!  The little kids are so cute!  Now I'm home typing this and I'm actually quite proud of myself for posting early in the day.  :)

Also, I have a fun thing that I'll be doing after each post.  I ask a random question and you answer it through email.  A couple of rules:  No answering through blog comments, No answering unless you read my blog post, and you have to answer reasonably.  Okay, here's my question this week:  Where did they come up with the name for Yahoo! Mail?  There you go!  I can't wait to see your answers!

October 2nd More Conference!

Here are today's notes!  Have fun reading!

Richard G. Scott Quorum of the Twelve:

One of the Twelve that is most familiar to me. I believe he spoke about the commandments.

Barbara Thomson 2nd Counselor Relief Society General Presidency:

I hadn't seen her before. She was a good speaker but it keeps stopping and it's hard to pay attention. She talked about the New Testament I think.

L. Whitney Clayton Of the Seventy:

Our church will cover the entire earth. He was a great speaker. I couldn't get a lot of what he said though.

Thomas S. Monson President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints:

Hello! Ha ha! :) It has been 48 years since he was called to be an Apostle by David O. McKay. New temple in Guatamala. Rebuilding Provo Tabernacle. Building another temple in Provo. New temple in Paris, France. There's a new temple being built in Star Valley, Wyoming. I think I'll dedicate that one. There's good fishing up there. Ha ha! :)

Jose L. Alonso Of the Seventy:

The Nephites worshipped Christ and kissed his feet.

Boyd K. Packer President of the Twelve:

Speaking to Youth. We are precious beyond measure. We know more about the gospel, we're more mature and more faithful. The gospel plan is the great Plan of Happiness. The family is the center of that plan. Many of the temptations you face pertain to your body. You have agency. All beings who have bodies have power over the adversary. Feast upon the words of Christ for the words of Christ will tell you all things which you should do. You may have trouble, thinking that you are lost. That is NEVER true. If you are slipping into bad things, that is the time to apply your agency, listen to the Spirit. You will be protected from the adversary IF you listen to the Spirit, heed the Holy Ghost. You are never far from the side of your Heavenly Father. Lucifer will lose. Trust in the Lord and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Dieter F. Uchtdorf Second Counselor, First Presidency:

It fills me with wonder and aw to think that the worth of souls is great in the site of God. Scientists have estimated that there are more stars in the universe than all of the grains of the beaches and deserts on earth. Holy cow!! That's a ton! ;) When ye are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God. No matter where you live, no matter how little you feel, you are not invisible to your Heavenly Father. What you see in your experiences now is not what forever will be. Remain faithful and one day you will experience for yourselves the promises that God has left for us.

David A. Bednar Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

The saints are to come up as Saviors on Mount Zion by building our temples and doing baptisms and other saving ordinances in the temple. He's talking to the Youth in particular. There is no age limit to fulfill our responsibility to do family history. He's has invited the young people of the church to study our family history, do baptisms and confirmations in the temple, and help other people identify their ancestors. You will be protected against the intensifying influence of the adversary. lds.org/familyhistoryyouth We can all do family history. They aren't just names but real people. I have taken to family history with a love and intensity I did not know I could muster. Before, family history was a scary thing but with the guidance of the spirit, I was able to help many people in my ward with theirs.

Neil L. Anderson Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

When to have a child and how many children to have are private decisions to be made between husband and wife and the Lord. The Savior of mankind described himself as being in the world but not of the world. Motherhood is not a hobby it is a sacred calling. It's what God gave you time for. “With the help of the Lord you can have your family and still become a doctor.” ~Spencer W. Kimball It was not in the Garden of Eden that Adam and Eve had their first child. It was only after they were living on the earth and had started to grow their own food and live on their own that they had children and started to multiply and replenish the earth.

Ian S. Ardern Of the Seventy:

Time is never for sale. It's value is immeasurable. Seek not the things of this world but seek ye first to build up the kingdom of God and to establish His priorities. Preparing to meet God may require guidance. Don't let video games and other certain media be the master of you! Seek out those things which are virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy.

Carl B. Cook Of the Seventy:

Believe in God. Prophets lead us to God. Getting rid of our sins is like releasing helium balloons into the sky, never to see them again. By day and by night His presence is near. It is better to look up.

LeGrand R. Curtis Jr. Of the Seventy:

With a strong hand. With a mighty hand. He talked a lot about stories of redemption.

D. Todd Christofferson Of the Twelve Apostles:

Awesome.

L. Tom Perry Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

Rich Clawson likes to imitate his voice. We always laugh. There is confusion out in the world about the Mormon church. We can help clear that. His life and His teachings are the whole of the Bible. Our eternal destiny is always in His hands. Let your light so shine before man. We want to avoid arguing!

Henry B. Eyring First Counselor, First Presidency:

Have faith. Don't ever give up. Have faith that the Lord will help you accomplish great things. Follow the Savior's command to the end. Be filled with charity. Full conversion, then faith. The Book of Mormon is a true and sure witness that He lives, that he was resurrected, and that He is the living Savior. The Book of Mormon is a precious witness.

Robert D. Hales Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

Now is when we tried to fix the connection so we could actually watch conference without it stopping every few words the speaker says. I think I'll be able to get some now, I think we fixed it...... “Get thee behind me, Satan.” “Not my will but thine be done.” Christ was willing to be wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. Why can it be so hard, even when we're trying to be our best? Even when we think we're alone, we're not. It's to help us to grow and develop. We wait upon the Lord. Tests and trials are given to all of us. No matter how difficult our challenges may be, are we always going to understand? No. Thy will be done. What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? In the scriptures, wait means to hope and trust and to hope and trust, we need to have faith in the Lord. We continue to wait, in patience, until we are perfected. We need to rely alone on the merits of Christ. Thy will be done, oh Lord, and not ours. As we wait upon the Lord we are immovable in keeping the commandments, knowing that we will one day rest from all our afflictions. Afflictions will come in all shapes and sizes. Job's experience reminds us what we may be called to endure. He lost his land, house, and animals, his family members, his reputation, his physical health, and even his mental well being. Yet he waited upon the Lord and bore powerful, personal testimony. He said, “For I know that my Redeemer liveth and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though the worms destroy this body, yet my flesh, in my flesh shall I see God. Though he slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Even with the shining examples of Job, the prophets, and the Savior, we still find it challenging to wait upon the Lord, especially when we cannot fully understand His plan and His purposes.

Elaine S. Dalton Young Women General President:

Love your wife so much that your marriage is eternal. The manner of happiness is found in the temple. Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly. Fathers, be an active part of her life. I loved the challenge of trying to follow his every footstep. I still do.

M. Russell Ballard Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

The church is known by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The words “Church of Jesus Christ” signify that it is His church. Let our testimonies of Him always be in our lives and our love for Him always be in our hearts.

Thomas S. Monson President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints:

The Ten Commandments are just that, commandments. Not just suggestions. It is necessary that we communicate with our Heavenly Father. President Monson is so funny!

Russell M. Nelson Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

We have received the Holy Priesthood and the everlasting gospel. We seek the Lord and obey His commandments but if we don't, we lose the blessings of the Covenant. Priesthood duties include missionary work. The Lord is counting on us to worthily participate as missionaries. He has blessed us, and others throughout the world, with the Book of Mormon. The children of His Covenant keep His Covenant by keeping the commandments.

Dallin H. Oaks Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

He that hath the spirit of contention is not of me but of the devil. Jesus Christ IS the Only Begotten Son. The Holy Ghost leads us to the truth.

Matthew O. Richardson Second Counselor Primary General Presidency:

He gave a great talk. Funny, too. :)

Of the Seventy:

Missionaries, act like Disciples of Christ.

Randall K. Bennett Of the Seventy:

Awesome, awesome talk.

J. Devn Cornish Of the Seventy:

Don't forget to ask the Lord to protect and be with you.

Quentin L. Cook Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:

If they die, they shall die unto me, and if they live, they shall live unto me.

Thomas S. Monson President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints:

He's thanking everyone for their efforts. I love President Monson. :)

Hello everybody!  I am really, truly, deeply sorry.  My other blog (the original) got deleted.  But this is my new blog.  So here you go!  Now, explanation.  Since today and tomorrow are General Conference, I'm doing two posts.  They will consist of my General Conference notes.  So here's the first one!  Enjoy!

Thomas S. Monson President The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints:

Hello!

Another explanation:  The colors represent either the color of the shirt that the speaker was wearing (women) or the color o fthe tie they were wearing (men).  I hope you liked it!
