April 26th *Shake shake shake* ...I'm alive!...

OH!!!  MY!!!  GOODNESS!!!!  I am so freaked out right now!!!  I just got back from my first performance in my whole life ten minutes ago!  It is 9:22 PM.  I AM STILL SHAKING!!  I must have aftershock or something!  Whatever you'd call it.  But seriously!  I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO NERVOUS IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!  I actually feel like I'm going to throw up!  AHH!!  I'm shaking and twitching and it's hard to take deep breaths because I was holding my breath for so long.  The other part of my job (besides making sure everyone is very ready for their cue and that I sort of added) is to give everyone hugs.  It helped me feel better and I think it helped the others, too.  In fact, before the play, I gave so many hugs to everyone that one of the guys asked me, "Are you going for a world record for most hugs in an hour or something?"  He laughed.  I laughed, too, and said, "Sure!" and then made it a point to hug everyone as much as they would let me.  :)  But I was still EXTREMELY nervous.  I felt like I was going out of my mind!!!  I'm ok, I'm ok, I'm ok...  I had fun... sort of.  I think I have the hardest job!  Not many other people were nervous but I was feeling like I was about to just go, "Ahh!!  Get me out of here!!"  Oohhh...  So freaky.

Anyway.  The performance was great!  It went very well and I am so proud of everyone!!  If you were part of it and you are reading this right now, I want you to know that I am SOOO proud of you.  I can't even say.  That was an amazing experience and even though I feel like I'm about to throw up and I still can't take the greatest deep breaths, I am sooo doing that next year.  It helped me learn so much.  I made so many amazing friends (yes, I'm talking about YOU), gained new friendships and strengthened old ones.  That was one of the coolest things in my life.  AND THANKS SO MUCH TO MY TEACHER!!  We wouldn't have been able to go on without you!!  That was amazing!!

I seriously can't wait for school next year.  Shakespeare, Writing and Literature, Home Ec, Art, even Knights of Freedom and Summit!!  I CANNOT WAIT!!!

April 25th Wow, I must be pretty bored.

I think I'll be posting pretty often now.  This is my second time today.  I guess I must be bored.  I'm not completely slammed with homework for once.  :)

Today I'm working on listening to a song called "I Will Stand as a Witness of Christ".  I'm singing along with it so I'll memorize it and so I'll know the notes really well.  I am performing it for my stake.  They are having a Young Woman Recognition Night.  It's where they have a special night for the Young Women in our stake that earned their Young Woman Medallions.  I think I have it down.

Now I'm working on this and my book report back and forth.  I have to do more than one thing at once or I go brain dead and somehow get distracted.  It helps me to write better, though.  If I get stuck on or tired of one thing, I go to the other.  Then it goes back and forth like that until they're both done.  It's interesting.  It's quite therapeutic to me, too.  It gets my brain going way faster.

I can't wait for summer!  I mean, I can wait for the hot weather (which I can't stand) but being able to actually be bored for once will be nice.  :)  I'll have a chance to catch up on my writing (which I know a few of you are anxious for) so that'll be nice.

By the way, Love's Labour's Lost opening night is tomorrow (see below for details)!  I'm so excited!  And I'm also on my nerves!  So I have four lines in the whole play.  No big deal, right?  I'm also back stage help which means I have to make sure everyone has their props ready and are on stage at the right moment or I'm dead!  Now, those of you who were wondering, "Why on earth would she be on her nerves if she only has four lines?"  Now you know why!  Ahh!  I think it will go really well.  But I'm really nervous anyway!  Ok, I'll be fine.  A couple of deep breaths.  Ok, I'm good.  But really!  You should try this job some time!

By the way:

Made you look!!  :D
Hee hee.  :)

Arpil 25th Randomness

Hello everybody!  Today is our last day of rehearsal.  I'm so nervous!  I guess it's worse if you're backstage help.  I'm in charge of making sure everyone gets there props and is ready in time for their cue.  Nerve-racking!!  I've developed a little habit of pacing and swinging my awesome chainmaille bracelet on my first finger.  Ahh!!  I think it'll go away when the play is over.  \:|  It's  really freaky!

Anyway.  If you don't know what Battleguard is, it's an activity that happens at my house once a week (every Tuesday from 6-9:00 PM) where a bunch of people get together (mostly homeschoolers but everyone is invited) to fight in an orderly fashion (ahem.  Not really) with foam swords.  You have to have a waiver in case you get hurt.  Even though they trust you (homeschoolers usually trust each other), they want to have it in writing.  So they just keep it safe that way.  I never fight (well, only sometimes) but it's at my house so I always end up watching.  I also like to give out hugs and make people feel awesome.  Yesterday (Battleguard time) I realized that that was the reason I actually liked coming.  I like to give people hugs when they look like they need them.  Sometimes people get hurt, too, so I help them.  Sometimes they aren't a lot hurt, though, so I just give them comfort hugs.  Anyway.  I love giving hugs.  That's kind of part of my job at Battleguard.  And, you know, it's like that in Shakespeare, too.  Mostly not hugs because someone got hurt, though.  Just fun hugs and comfort hugs and good job hugs.  Those are fun.  And I think hugs help you to relax when you're almost on or when you just got off stage.  Performing (or helping backstage) can really put you on edge.  Hugs are one of my favorite things in the whole world.  I think they really are therapeutic too.

Anyway.  I hope you liked hearing me ramble on about my play, Battleguard, and hugs.  That was the randomest (see, random, because that's not a word...) post of the year so far.

Thanks for reading!

Ta-da!  I really hope you can come!  We've been working really hard at it and I think we've done a pretty good job.  I want to see you there!

Hey, I finally got pictures of my aunt's reception and stuff.  Hope you like them!

Cute picture of me and my siblings.  Mason has the best smile/pose in this one.  :)

Our whole family (look how matchy we are!).

My aunt in her dress (isn't she just adorable?!).  Those are five-inch heels, btw (yes!  Five INCHES!!!).

Aw!!

This is what the reception was like.  And no, those things on the ceiling are not silk!  They are, in fact, made of plastic tablecloth material!

What was that?  Did you say you liked the table decorations?  I sure do!  (Those are really real records, btw.)

Sigh...  Weirdo.  :)

Wedding cake!  This is so cool!  And those are real flowers!  What was that?  You can't figure out what the top thingy is?  Here's a closer look...

Yep.  Action figures.  And they actually look like the real couple!  (My aunt and uncle both like guns.)

This is the only good picture I could find of me in my dress on the computer.  The one I really want on here is on my mom's phone.  Oh, well.

My dad and the Otter Daughter.  Aren't they so cute?!

This one's my favorite. My dad was making her jump in the air...
And then go under him.  ADORABLE!!

And, yes, I do want to be a photographer someday.  (Even though the picture isn't exactly praiseworthy...)

As for the most exciting event of this week (this is what I'll be doing every time I blog.  Tell the most exciting even and say, "Ta-da!  I posted!").  It was by far the birthday party of one of our homeschool friends.  It was sort of like a stake dance but we did a bunch of Victorian dancing (dancing as a group is an organized manner).  But, you know, the group dancing wasn't very easy.  We had to learn the dances on the spot and got confused constantly.  I knew a couple of them but the rest were hard.  Anyway.  I learned how to waltz (Ironfist (code name :) ) taught me) and I got to dance with a few different people.  One of the guys I danced with was a really good dancer and was amazing at keeping up a good conversation.  That made the dancing way more fun.  So, guys, if you're reading this, the best way to impress a girl (ahem, especially while you're dancing) is to be willing to teach her how to dance, be extremely courteous, escort her off the dance floor, make her laugh and smile a lot, not be weird or awkward (ahem), and keep up a fun conversation.  That's what really impresses us (trust me, this will work (and very well)).  I had an amazing time and I'm definitely going to the next stake dance I can, even if it's a little different than that.  I never really liked the idea of stake dances (or just dances in general) but now that I've actually been to one (sort of), I really want to go again!  Whew!  It was awesome!

It's getting to the end of the school year (in fact, this is probably going to be the last time I'll blog before it ends (in the middle of May).  I have learned so much, and many, MANY amazing things have happened to me.  I have gained new friendships and strengthened old ones.  I have gotten to know many people more and better and have been able to learn from their examples.  I have so much that I'd tell about my school year but the post would be so long that it would take me DAYS.  I feel like I've grown up (hey, I've reached six feet and everything!), not just physically, but mentally and spiritually, too.  I am so excited for my next school year.  I can't wait!  All in all, this has been the best year of my life.  So many amazing things...  I am going to cherish it forever.

Hey, guys.  So I am now moving everything except for Asteria and Vulcan, Keisha and Reena, The Mystery of the Missing Canines, and the friend story onto one page that will be labeled Old Stuff.  Then I will make one new page for all of my New Stuff.   So, ta-da!  Those are my posts for today.  But you'll have to wait until I get my computer back for me to post the new New Stuff.  Sorry.  Until then, enjoy what's already on here.  :)

Hey, everyone! I had a great time watching conference and being with my family this weekend. I always love cuddling up in my jammies next to my family to watch the church authorities give us the messages they want us to hear. I will l not be posting my notes this time because there aren't many and I think it's best not to do it this time. I've been having lots Of fin in CA and I hope all of you have also been having fun. By the way, 100 brownie points to anyone who can guess what this is!!! ..... Um, but you have to ask me for the email containing the picture first because for some reason it won't let me get the picture on my blog. Thanks, guys! A.J. McKay
